Never did I think.....

I know the title is what drew you in on this one.  I can honestly say that I have had some very strange happenings in the past few months which I haven't been blogging about due to the fact no one seems, to be reading or commenting on my posts.  I find it like I am hidden as a blogger.  But I still write down things that will be used for later projects.

I handled a call recently, in which a wife requested her husband who was drunk be removed from the residence.  The officers responded to the location, and found he was not around when they arrived.  She was fine with them leaving as they didn't know where he was and the issue had been resolved.  She calls back several hours later advising he had been hiding in the crawl space in the basement and had came upstairs, he was in the house when officers were there earlier.  And she wanted him removed, because he was trying to fight with her.  Then she called back again, to state he fell asleep on the couch, and she didn't need anyone to respond.  Then yet another call stating he was just playing he is awake and trying to fight with her.  The responding officer was upset with me about it, which if they would have handled in the first place,  I wouldn't have sent them and turned them around so many times already.  They ended up working things out with the officer when he arrived and no one was removed.  Go, No, Go, NO, I wasn't sure but that was plain crazy.

Another recent act of stupidity.  We received a call on a 911 line, which provides your location.  The caller said come and get me, and then I heard a female in the background say just get out of my vehicle.  Then the call ended.  I called the number back, and spoke to a female, she advised a friend was using her phone and drunk, and I asked her for her name, she said hold on, and then came back and said my mom said I can't give you my information.  I said, Okay, I will send an officer.  At this point the caller hung up.  I sent officers to the location, knowing just about exactly where they were considering the subject whom the phone belonged to, had called before, and the location plot was right at his residence.    Sure enough, I got another call from a guy saying there was a girl that had a guy in her car she didn't want, he then relayed to me he saw the officers down the street.  The officers arrived and found the male whom I had given them the name of as the owner of the phone, and he was intoxicated.  And they located alcohol in the vehicle which the female owned, and neither were old enough to have alcohol.  The male then was arrested.  He called the police on himself, and was arrested.

I handled a 911 pocket dial call, in which I spoke to a male, who identified himself, and said his phone does it often.  I know the touch screen phones are notorious for calling 911 when left in a pocket, etc.  They are technically auto dialing which is illegal in many states.  These phones are very sensitive and cause many wasted hours, for tracking down the users, and clogging 911 systems.  This guy was quick to say he was practically someone's brother in law.  I was quick to jump back and advise that this was he whom you were referring to.  I don't consider him practically, anything except useless.  I know that is bad, but he is a felon, whom my sister in law met while she was out of state after her husband cheated on her, and she brought him home with her.  He hid the fact that he was wanted in that state and was sent back for charges, and now he is on probation for theft.  He stole and I just don't think I trust him.  But don't be flashing my name around, it isn't going to help you, you are not my family, even if you do get married.  I am not claiming you.

Days back

I wrote this several days ago, maybe weeks, I am behind putting them up so there might be several days blasted with updates and blogs which are longer. When did I book the trip on this insane train? I was enjoying some computer games when I heard some thunder . Shortly after that it began to rain, I mean POUR! I am hearing radio traffic like crazy, police, city crews, sheriff's department, Department of Transportation, WATER IS EVERYWHERE, and the highways are even impassable and are close to traffic. 1 hour later, I get a call from work, They need me in for a transfer of a critical patient, and we are taking a nurse. I tell them I will do my best to get there. My street has a few places where water is running over the road, I go a few blocks and then find more water. I have never seen this much water standing and moving, at least not here! There is a stress you have to deal with in this situation, you have to worry your vehicle will be carried by the water as you go through the wa...

The LZ

ATV's can be dangerous, as I have found out through a few calls. We are dispatched for an ATV accident, we go to the location, which is a few miles from the road. My partner takes off and goes down, while I get the truck turned around and try to get things setup for her. She calls back for me to radio for a helicopter. In just a few minutes she knew we needed a chopper. I called for a chopper telling dispatch to go ahead and dispatch a rescue crew to setup an LZ for us, since the fire department was already on scene with us assisting. The male was riding with a young girl on the back, they had went down into a creek, and then on the way out, the four wheeler front end lifted up, he was able to throw the younger girl off, but he wasn't able to clear himself from the path, as it fell backwards onto him. He was partially in the creek and underneath the large ATV. He was cold, and pale, he looked like he was dead, and his respirations were shallow, all the primary signs of...

Downward Spiral

The past month has started a rapid downward spiral, not totally on me.  I thought things were going good, we were almost to the point of being fully staffed, it was kind of exciting.  And then IT happened.  One of the rather new rookies had a bad day, I mean it was bad, but not terrible.  They fumbled, they struggled, but they made it out at the end of the day, as well as everyone they sent.  But they complained that it was a terrible day and they were not coming back.  The next day was a new day, they showed up.  They did the job they were paid to, the one they were hired for, and went on with the day like the day before had not been any issue.  Then it happened I was off and got a message to call in when I had a chance.  I called in and the supervisor informed me that the employee had quit and was no longer on the schedule so it would affect the entire schedule.  I was asked if I could take any other shifts, I reluctantly drudged thr...
